Download as a Mac OS X disk image (55.9kB) or Stuffit Archive (45.7kB). These are simple AppleScript "droplets".
Why are these useful? Being based on vintage FileMaker 5.5, FlockFiler Lite version 1.x for Macintosh (both OS X and Classic) requires proper Mac OS filetype codes on the image or text files that it opens. It was customary for Classic Macintosh software to mark file with the proper filetype. It is much less common now for programs to follow this convention in Mac OS X. If an image file doesn't have the proper image filetype, you won't be able to select it in the Insert Picture... file dialog for the Photo field. If a text file doesn't have the 'TEXT' filetype code, you won't be able to select it in the File-->Import... dialog.
These two tools are simple drag-and-drop applications to add the correct image and text filetype to your files. Simply drag one or more files to the application icon and the files will be fixed in place.
Note that while it is running FlockFiler Lite v1.x remembers the previous state of the files it has seen in the Open File dialog and won't automatically rescan for proper filetypes on the files after you change them. If you tried to open the file (image or text) and found it wasn't selectable due to a missing filetype, you need to quit FlockFiler Lite 1.x, add the filetypes using these tools, and then launch FlockFiler Lite 1.x and try again. The easiest way to have a smooth experience is to add the correct filetypes before you try to have FlockFiler Lite 1.x open the files.
